What's that strange, foreign aroma in the air...? No!...No, it couldn't possibly be! It smells like...like...freedom!

Exams are over, thank God. Finals have to be the world's biggest drag. I did really well on them--not to boast; it's just that I hardly ever do very well on any sort of schoolwork. How'd everyone else do on theirs? :]

Goals for break: sart self-protrait and that other painting I'm doing. I really want to prove to myself that I can get that done.

What else? Making gifts, working on trades. It's going to take forever. Lots of them will be late. Buuuuut hey. I like doing it, so I can't much complain.

Ooh! The Looking Glass Wars series! I'm kinda of sorta obsesessed with it a little. It's way too amazing, really.

Also. If you haven't seen The Princess and The Frog, go see it. RIGHT NOW. I'm not even joking. It's beyond worth the eight bucks for a ticket. Next, I'd really like to see Invictus. And Sherlock Holmes, because Jude Law...well I mean, it's freakin' Jude Law.

I am not in the least bit unserious about this, reguardless of how naieve I may sound. Unless, as an adult, I have another life besides my own to support, I refuse--flat out REFUSE--to live a life a life with someone and/or doing something I hate; a life that sucks out my soul. I don't care about all that "it's just the way the world works, you can't change it" crap.

I'm not saying everyone who lives a normal life is unhappy. I'm saying that from birth, it is pounded it into our heads that, yes; we may have to live miserably in persuit of happiness, because it's sometimes necessary. Because someday, after swallowing spoonful after spoonful of the disgusting codliver oil of "grown-up" responsibilities and societal functions with zest and vigor and big smiles, we will magically achieve whatever ends we always wanted--becoming content and happy and successful--all becuase we were good little drones, following the system without making a scene, working hard and becoming just another cog in the big beautiful machine. And there's no way anyone can change that, because "It's just the way the world works."

I can't change that? Screw you. If living in a damp, flimsy cardboard box on the side of the road, surviving on fingernail clippings and puddle-water is what it takes for me to be happy, then watch me.

RANDOM CRAP

Look at that creative title, you guys.

You know what's really good? Lemonade mixed with Monster. Also, the song Sleepyhead by Passion Pit used to make me want to gouge my eyes out, but now...it's starting to grow on me.

Vegas was nice. Freezing and grassless, but nice. :] I'm really not used to people hitting on me, though. It made me feel akward and uncomfortable.

While we walked the Strip, I met Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel. I took a picture with them. Wonder Woman was especially lovely and she said she liked my outfit. 8D If there was anything that could boost my ego, it would be Wonder Woman complimenting my clothes.

We saw Cirque du Soliel KÀ, which was A-FUCKING-MAZING. I just...ah. If there is any way you can go see it, for the love of all that is holy, SEE IT. I have no words for how brilliant and beautiful it is. No. Words.

We also went to the Hoover Dam, which was really awe-inspiring. I had to go sit down by the winged statues, though, because I'm afraid of heights. Kind of a bummer. But the statues were gorgeous; couldn't stop staring at them.

Ooh! And I made my first set of clay charms: a few cream puffs and a grapefuit tart! 8D I'm stupidly proud of myself. You have no idea.

Hey! Well, we're leaving tomorrow morning (at like 5; such an ungodly hour) for Vegas, and I'll be gone for about 4 days. We're really freakin' lucky to be able to go; the only reason we can afford it is because our cousin who lives out there invited us. And since my mom is now out a job, this will probably be our last holiday trip for a reeeeeally long time. I've never been further West than New Orleans, and the desert kind of scares me. All that sand and gravel and dry heat. .__. But still, it should be fun!

RANDOM CRAP

So, for those of you who live around here, I just wanted to give you a heads-up. Um, there's a pack of gypsies moving through Jupiter, apparently? Like, real live gypsies.
Sounds like I'm crazy, which is extremely likely, but I'm serious as a heart-attack.

Obviously they aren't the storybook, pirate-esque gypsies of old--which is to say they wear street clothes and blend in with everyone else. But though they generally aren't interested in violent crime, they're true to their name in (for the most part) being expert burgulars, conartists and theives. Even in this day and age. My mom had one almost break into her office building today. So be vigilant, or whatever. I don't think it's really that big of a deal...but I do think it's pretty fuckin' cool.
